Special Programs > Career and Technology Education (CATE)

Career and Technology Education (CATE) is dedicated to preparing young people to manage the dual roles of family member and wage earner, and to enable them to gain entry-level employment in a high-skill, high-wage job and/or to continue their education. Canton High School offers career and technology education programs in Agricultural Science and Technology Education, Business Education, Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Health Science Technology, and Vocational Adjustment. Enrollment in CATE courses is open to all students without regard to race, color, creed, religious affiliation, sex or handicapping conditions.

The Tech Prep Program is designed to prepare students for the future. Students that decide to continue their education in a Tech Prep designated major may earn college credit toward that major while still in high school. To this end, Canton ISD has signed a Tech Prep articulation agreement with Trinity Valley Community College. For more information, contact one of the Canton High School counselors.
