Special Programs > Compensatory Education

Compensatory Education is a federally funded program designed to strengthen educational opportunities for students at-risk in kindergarten through grade 12. The goal of state compensatory education is to reduce any disparity in performance on assessment instruments administered under Subchapter B, Chapter 39, or disparity in the rates of high school completion between students at risk of dropping out of school and all other district students (Section 29.081, Texas Education Code).

Compensatory Education is offered through supplemental classes such as tutorials, TAKS preparation classes, math labs, and disciplinary alternative school classes.
