Special Programs > Migrant Education Program

Migrant Education designs and supports programs that help migrant students overcome the challenges of mobility, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, and other difficulties associated with a migratory lifestyle, in order to succeed in school and to successfully transition to postsecondary education or employment.

The term “migratory child” means a child who is, or whose parent or spouse is, a migratory agricultural worker, including a migratory dairy worker, or a migratory fisher, and who, in the preceding 36 months, moved from one school district to another n order to obtain, or accompany such parent or spouse in order to obtain, temporary or seasonal employment in agricultural or fishing work.

Questions regarding the Migrant Program should be directed to the Assistant Superintendent at 903-567-4179.
