We are excited about the upcoming 2015-2016 school year that is upon us. Our staff has been hard at work and we are looking forward to seeing all the students and beginning a great year.
As school begins, we want to remind everyone to pay close attention to the school buses that will be out in the mornings and afternoons. Be sure to adhere to the stop lights when students are loading and unloading.
Also, the first few weeks of school many more parents will drive their children to school than normal. Please give yourself plenty of time, know what entry to drop off your child, and please be courteous and patient with other drivers.
Even though school officially begins this week, we have had many students on campus since the beginning of August. Almost half of our High School student body is involved in Band, Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Cheer. Students and staff involved in these activities have been going strong and braving the heat and we are looking forward to watching them compete and perform.
This week’s extracurricular schedule sees the Volleyball Team taking on Elkhart on Tuesday at Home.
Thursday, Varsity Football Team will open their season by taking on Grace Community. This will be part of the Annual Azaela Classic and will be held on the campus of All-Saints Academy in Tyler. You can catch all the action on 95.7, with Mike, T.A., and Shawn, kick-off is at 7pm.
Also on Thursday, the Junior High Volleyball Team will travel to Rains for their season opener.
On Friday, the High School Volleyball Teams will be in Athens and then on Saturday, the Cross Country Teams will be running in Waxahachie.
We hosted an Open House at the Canton Administration Building and CISD Museum. There was a great turnout with over 75 people in attendance. We want to remind everyone that if you would like to tour the Museum or have items you would like to display, it is open during regular business hours 5 days a week. We’d love to show you around!
This week’s Eagle Vision Trait is to “Empower Others.” Inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more.
The Eagle Etiquette reminder is to “Respond to an adult using “Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am, Yes Sir, and No Sir.”
The August Quote of the Month is “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
We are excited about the upcoming year and hope everyone has a great week!
