Trauma-Informed Care Policy

Traumatic experiences can impact an individual's cognitive abilities, interfere with proper development, and limit academic achievement. Trauma-informed school approaches positively impact all students, regardless of trauma history. Canton Independent School District will implement trauma-informed practices and care by district and campus staff and increase staff and parent awareness of trauma-informed care. Our district staff has completed the Trauma-Informed Care Training provided by the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services.
